 "Living outside the bubble"

Last month we considered the fact that we have a "dual citizenship" on earth as in Heaven. We are merely sojourners in this land, and we are not home yet. I mentioned that it is only reasonable to do the things today that will count when we get home. How can I make my time, talents, and gifts received from God at my conversion count for all of eternity? We made mention of one thing that is "time-less," the Word of God.  

Some are "in the know" on sports statistics. Some are "in the know" about movies and the stars that make them. These traits are not a bad thing in their own rite. Considering that we are finite beings and there is not time enough to know everything about everything, doesn't it make sense to choose the objects of our attention wisely? Be "in the know" of scripture. Be "in tune" with what God thinks and reveals in His word. All these other things will be added unto you. When this "Bubble" (we call physical) pops, all we have invested in it will come to nothing. 

We know that the Spirit of God brings gifts to men at conversion. Some have this gift and some have that gift or gift(s). One we all are partakers of is love. Not just human love, which is on a lower plane, but Devine love that is uncommon to those apart from Christ. To use this gift on all our relational endeavors with ALL men will wax eternal. I think of the proverb about giving to the poor is lending to God. Why didn't it say like GIVING to God?  

I'll tell you why, because He will pay you back for it! If not in this life, it IS being recorded for eternity! Scripture chooses its working wisely. We have an accountant in the heavens that will not miss a mark when it comes to our rewards! 

Next month we will examine how we can make our TIME and TALENTS last for eternity.
